personalization, printing method, paper, embellishments, and quantity
selected. At Susan James Originals, custom wedding stationery begins at a $3,500 minimum investment, with most couples investing approximately $6,000 after selecting upgrades and finishing details.

Your invitation suite can be thoughtfully customized with luxury details such as letterpress
printing, foil stamping, double-thick paper, custom artwork, watercolor
illustrations, envelope liners, silk ribbon, wax seals, custom
monograms, and hand-selected envelope colors.

Because every wedding invitation suite is created specifically for
your celebration, we provide a personalized proposal based on your
stationery vision, guest count, and desired level of customization.

How far in advance should I order my wedding invitations?

For luxury custom wedding invitations, we recommend beginning the design process approximately 6–9 months before your wedding date.
Starting early allows plenty of time for custom artwork, design
development, proofing, printing, assembly, addressing, and mailing.

If your suite includes custom watercolor artwork, a venue illustration, monogram, crest, or other bespoke artwork, additional design time may be needed. Custom watercolor artwork typically requires approximately 4–5 weeks, while more involved custom artwork may require additional time.

Ideally, your wedding invitations should be mailed approximately 8–12 weeks before the wedding, giving your guests ample time to RSVP and make travel arrangements.

Custom wedding invitations are created specifically for you
from the ground up. This is the ideal choice when you want a truly
one-of-a-kind invitation suite incorporating custom artwork, a venue
illustration, family crest, monogram, meaningful motifs, unique
typography, or a completely original design concept.

Semi-custom is an excellent choice for couples who love an existing
design but want to make it their own. Custom stationery is perfect for
couples who want their invitations to be inherently theirs.

Can you create artwork of my wedding venue?

Yes. Custom watercolor venue illustrations are one of the most personal ways to incorporate your wedding location into your invitation suite.

Susan James Originals can create original watercolor artwork inspired by your wedding venue, historic estate, church, hotel, garden, coastal setting, destination, or meaningful location. The finished artwork can be used throughout your wedding stationery, including invitation cards, envelope liners, save the dates, wedding programs, menus, welcome signs, and day-of details.

Venue artwork is created to complement the overall aesthetic of your
wedding rather than simply reproduce a photograph, giving your
stationery the feeling of a personal piece of fine art.

Do you address and mail wedding invitations?

Yes. We offer white-glove wedding invitation assembly, addressing, and mailing services for couples who want a completely hands-off experience.
